We are now collecting information from botanicals buyers about products purchased from January to December of 2015. At this time we are focusing on medicinal products harvested in Eastern deciduous forests.
To complete the questionnaire, just click the secure link below. When you do, it will ask you for a code, this is to make sure we are receiving information from real botanical dealers. If you received a mailing from us, the code should be on the cover letter. If you do not have a code, you can contact us directly for one.
There has been very little research on the markets for native medicinal forest products such as goldenseal, bloodroot and black cohosh. Our short, voluntary, confidential questionnaire will help us estimate the trade for some of these other products and see how the harvest is distributed throughout the region. We also ask questions that help us measure the economic impact of nontimber forest products. We will use the information to create next year’s RootReport and for other extension programs and educational materials. If you would like to see the questions or fill out a paper copy first, you can download a copy here.
We are required by law to keep all information collected from the questionnaires confidential and will not share any information that could identify participants with anyone. We want to understand the big picture, so the information will be used to create summaries, like these. We will not publish or share any data that can be traced to an individual business. Your decision to participate will also be kept confidential.
If you have questions or concerns about our project, we would be happy to talk with you. Conversations with participants have helped improve the project, and give us a better understanding of the data we collect. Contact us for more information.
Thank you for your time and your participation
